The cheapest Southeast Asia plan that covers it, for the coverage selected by default. Your phone counts a little differently from the network, so keep some margin. More in our guide: how much data do I need?
Two plans on this page
Most people who search for a Southeast Asia eSIM have a route in mind that one plan doesn’t fully cover. So this page has two:
- Southeast Asia (5 countries): Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The cheaper one, and when the data runs out on the 3 GB plan or bigger, it slows to 128 kbps instead of cutting you off.
- Asia (16 countries): adds Cambodia, Laos, the Philippines, and further afield Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, India and more. More countries, a higher price per GB, and it stops when the data is used up.
Pick by your route, not by the region’s name. Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Bali? Southeast Asia. Anything with Cambodia, Laos or the Philippines on it? Asia.
The networks differ per plan
Not every plan uses the same network in the same country, and it’s worth knowing before you choose.
| Country | Southeast Asia (5) | Asia (16) |
|---|---|---|
| Thailand | dtac, True Move | AIS, True Move |
| Vietnam | Mobifone, Viettel, VinaPhone | Mobifone, Viettel, VinaPhone |
| Malaysia | CelcomDigi, Maxis | CelcomDigi, Maxis |
| Singapore | Singtel, StarHub | Singtel |
| Indonesia | Telkomsel, XL Axiata | Telkomsel, Indosat, XLSmart, Smartfren |
In Thailand, the Southeast Asia plan runs on dtac and True Move. Since their merger, those two run as one network under True. Asia uses AIS and True Move.
In Indonesia, the Asia plan gives you four networks to choose from, which can help on the smaller islands. On Southeast Asia you get Telkomsel and XL.

How much data
A month of normal use (maps, ride apps, messages and socials) comes to about 18 GB, so 20 GB is the safe pick for a month. Two weeks fits in 10 GB. The table above has today’s prices for the plan that’s selected.

Before you buy
Which countries does the Southeast Asia eSIM cover?
Five: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Cambodia, Laos and the Philippines aren't on it. For those, pick Asia (16 countries) in the buy box.
Does Bali work?
Yes. Bali is part of Indonesia, which both plans cover.
When should I install it?
At home, on wifi, a day or two before you fly. The plan only starts counting when your phone first connects at your destination.
What happens when my data runs out?
On the 3 GB plan and up you stay online: speed drops to 128 kbps, enough for messages and maps. The 1 GB plan stops when the data is used up. Need more? Order another plan in two minutes; it comes with its own QR code.
How does Unlimited work?
You get 1 GB a day at full speed. After that it's 5 Mbps until your daily allowance resets: enough for maps, socials and video calls. Then the next full-speed GB starts.
Can I keep my own SIM for calls and texts?
Yes. Your home SIM stays in, our eSIM does the data. Turn data roaming off for your home line and you won't get a surprise bill.
What if it doesn't work?
If it won't connect because of a fault on our side or the network's, we fix it with you. If we can't, you get your money back or a new eSIM, your choice. Never installed it? Full refund. The full rules are in our terms.
