The cheapest Asia plan that covers it, for the coverage selected by default. Your phone counts a little differently from the network, so keep some margin. More in our guide: how much data do I need?
Three sizes, one QR code
Every Asia eSIM works the same way: you scan one QR code at home, and your phone switches to a local network at every border. What differs is which countries are in, which networks you get, and what happens when your data runs out.
| eSIM | Countries | When the data runs out | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Asia 16 | 16 | Stops | Southeast and East Asia, including Cambodia, Laos and India. |
| Asia 28 | 28 | Slows to 128 kbps | The same, plus Nepal, Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand, Central Asia, Georgia and more. No Singapore. |
| Asia + Europe | 54 | Slows to 128 kbps | Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Sri Lanka, plus most of Europe and Turkey. No Cambodia, Laos or India. |

The cheapest one isn’t called Asia
This surprises most people: Asia + Europe often costs less per GB than Asia 16, even if you never set foot in Europe. If your route stays within the countries it covers, it’s usually the best deal. It slows down instead of stopping when your data runs out, too. Check today’s prices in the buy box: switch between the sizes and compare.
The catch: Asia + Europe has fewer networks in some countries. In Indonesia it uses Telkomsel and XL instead of four networks; in Taiwan only Chunghwa Telecom. In the cities that rarely matters. On remote islands, more networks means more chance of signal.
Which one for which trip
- The Banana Pancake Trail (Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia): Asia 16 or Asia 28. Asia + Europe misses Laos and Cambodia. See our route page.
- Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Bali: Asia + Europe, or the Southeast Asia eSIM, which covers those four countries plus Vietnam.
- Japan, Korea and Taiwan: Asia + Europe covers all three. Only Japan and Korea? Look at the Japan + Korea route.
- India, Nepal and Sri Lanka: Asia 28 is the only one with all three.
- Asia, then Australia or New Zealand: Asia 28. Note that it has no Singapore.
- Asia and Europe on one long trip: Asia + Europe, of course.
Our route planner does the comparison for you: add your countries and it picks the cheapest eSIM that covers them all.
Networks
Asia 16 and Asia 28 use the same networks in the countries they share: AIS and True in Thailand, all three networks in Vietnam, Globe and Smart in the Philippines, four networks in Indonesia. Most come with 5G. The country pages say more per country, for example Thailand, Vietnam and Laos.
How much data for Asia
Four weeks of normal use (maps, ride apps, messages and socials) comes to about 17 GB, so a 20 GB plan covers a month. Two weeks fits in 10 GB. The table above has today’s prices for the selected eSIM.

Before you buy
Which Asia eSIM should I pick?
The one that covers every country on your route. Going to Cambodia, Laos or India? Asia 16 or Asia 28. Only Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, Korea or Taiwan? Asia + Europe covers those too, usually for less. Tap a country in the list on this page and the buy box picks a plan that covers it.
What happens when the data runs out?
On Asia 16 the data stops; order another plan to carry on. Asia 28 and Asia + Europe slow down to 128 kbps instead, so messages and maps keep working.
Does Asia 28 include Singapore?
No. For Singapore, take Asia 16, Asia + Europe or the Singapore eSIM.
When should I install it?
At home, on wifi, a day or two before you fly. The plan only starts counting when your phone first connects at your destination.
What happens when my data runs out?
This plan stops when the data is used up. Need more? Order another plan in two minutes; it comes with its own QR code.
How does Unlimited work?
You get 1 GB a day at full speed. After that it's 5 Mbps until your daily allowance resets: enough for maps, socials and video calls. Then the next full-speed GB starts.
Can I keep my own SIM for calls and texts?
Yes. Your home SIM stays in, our eSIM does the data. Turn data roaming off for your home line and you won't get a surprise bill.
What if it doesn't work?
If it won't connect because of a fault on our side or the network's, we fix it with you. If we can't, you get your money back or a new eSIM, your choice. Never installed it? Full refund. The full rules are in our terms.
